Watching Hair Grow

As I mentioned in a previous post, my New Year's Resolution for 02008 is as follows:

To at least make a valiant attempt at resisting the urge to cut my hair, with the eventual goal of donating it to Locks of Love.

In the last month, my hair has definitely crossed over into the silly range. I think it's hovering on the ridiculous precipice, but I don't think it's quite crossed over. Certainly, it will have done so a month from now.

Here are the March 2, 02008 photos:

Self portrait, Locks of Love, hair, growth

The last time I shaved was on February 1. That has nothing to do with the resolution. It has more to do with its being winter, and my having gotten through the itchy time, which is what usually keeps me from not shaving. I fully expect to shave by the end of this month. That will, of course, serve to amplify the difference between the March and April photos.

Comments

  1. hi, I don't usually read your blog but I felt moved to leave a comment on the state of your facial hair. I accidentally ran across your site when I googled for a picture of "bleeding hearts" (the flower), and after reading your latest march entry and scrolling down to february, I must say from a woman's perspective, you look fantastic slightly shaggy. It's just my personal opinion but currently you look very nerd sexy in a good way, whether as before a bit too clueless. Just thought I'd share in case it helps getting "dates" (or the end result).

Sorry to bother you so randomly.

  2. My brother, the nerd!!!! Hahahahaha. Anonymous, you need to check back in about 3 or 4 months...you're really going to love his "Jesus died for you" look! (I remember it well!)

Personally, I prefer your clean-shaven look, bro, as I suspect your wife does (and I KNOW Mom does!)...but you already knew that, right? ;)

I think it's just the photo, so don't take offense, because "clueless" has NEVER been an apt descriptor for you, not even when you were in diapers! Well, "naive" maybe, but not clueless.

It's been a while since we talked -I haven't known when to call since you changed jobs (which I hear is going well; yay!). I don't want to wake you or your better half up during sleeping hours.

If you get a chance, shoot me an e-mail letting me know when I can safely call, or call me (cell is best, I've always got it with me) one of these days so we can catch up.

Please give your lovely wife a hug from me, as well as L, S, N & W (if W will even stand still for it...AND if she even exists; I think she's just a figment of someone's imagination!). ;)
